Optical camera tracking

There are 3 main variants of optical tracking technology currently in use, summarised as:

Targets attached to main camera viewed by multiple fixed cameras around a studio.

Targets mounted on the studio viewed by an auxiliary camera attached to the main camera.

Auxiliary camera generates it’s own targets from scene content.

Clearly with such different approaches, the specifications of the units will vary greatly, as well as how often the systems need calibration, and the available size and height of the shooting space, may well dictate a particular product.
